Meet the Animals
Our sanctuary animals are the heartbeat of Earthfire.
Coming to us through a variety of circumstances, our domesticated wildlife cannot survive in the wild. Some were kept as pets, some came from fur or meat farms, and others were surrendered to us. All of them are loved and cared for throughout their lifetimes. Our animals serve as vibrant, evocative ambassadors for their species and for species individuality, opening the door for all of us to see ourselves and nature through different eyes—eyes that recognize and embrace our interconnectedness with all of Earth’s ecosystems.
Visitors to Earthfire are given the opportunity to connect with these wild beings heart-to-heart, reawakening an expanded understanding of community and our place within the web of all Life.

Your generous donations helped us finalize our brand new, state-of-the-art bear gardens. These gardens were the first step in our site-wide facility updates, which aim to provide all of our animals with as much of the richness and diversity of life in the wild as possible.
