Cortona Week 2019

A Program to Foster a New Class of World Leaders

This week (June 22-29, 2019), Susan will be attending and presenting at Cortona Week in Todi, Italy. This is a very exciting opportunity for Susan and Earthfire to collaborate with critical scientists, artists, musicians, spiritual leaders, poets, professionals in medicine and psychology, and politicians from all over the world, as well as to mentor graduate students and young managers from all disciplines, as the groups are “mixed.” The Cortona Week organizers describe the aim of this conference as an effort to open up the horizon of the participants to the values of ecology, ethics, tolerance, and internal introspection, as well as the new frontiers of science, literature, art, and economics—the full display of human experience, where life becomes a system of interacting parts, and not many single isolated domains.

Understanding that the problems of our world cannot be solved or even tackled by only one discipline at a time, discussions, workshops, and lectures in this conference will provide a holistic, systemic way of thinking and aim to forge and catalyze a new class of world leaders—a thing of the utmost necessity for our world today—and to reinforce ethics and human dignity in an environment which presently entails the danger of becoming foreign or even hostile to us.
