Ramble

Ramble is a particularly ingenious, crafty plotter. It is a mistake to underestimate him and the mischief he lays in wait to create. His favorite hobby is stealing hoses from new, unsuspecting animal care staff. After lulling them into a false sense of security, he grabs the hose, and with a wicked gleam in his eyes, dances away and punctures holes in it as they watch helplessly. We always warn new staff, but they never believe it until it happens. He vigorously swings serviceberry branches to dislodge the berries, but shows restraint and delicacy when eating berry pies.

Animal Fact

"Yezo brown bears were very important to the Ainu people, the indigenous people of Hokkaido, who worshipped them as mountain gods (kimun kamuy)" (Best of Hokkaido).
