Video: Humble Bumble Sucks his Thumb
Animal Story, Animal Tales, Bears | October 3, 2011
Earthfire Institute’s specially-abled grizzly bear, Humble Bumble, soothes himself by sucking on his paw while humming to himself. In this video you hear the sweet sounds as he reassures himself in a world that is scary to him.
What a sweet sound, I did not know that bears hummed. So glad we got to see him again during A Walk on the Wild Side, and to watch him enjoy splashing in his pool. He radiates joy when he is playing.

I love this story.
I once rescued a baby kangaroo and she sucked her ‘thumb’ when she was nervous…she shared a plate with the dog (a beagle). Eventually she returned to the wild which I was so thrilled about as it was the aim of rescuing her.
wishing you love and laughter,
