Cucumber the Little Wolf that could, who is currently recuperating in the house from an operation,is simply refusing to leave. She has decided she is a house wolf. Or a cabin wolf because we live in a 20 x 30 foot cabin along with various other canids. This will be an ongoing saga. She nearly died last year and spent 3 months in the cabin, then we put her back out with the other wolves. When she got sick again she was beside herself to be back IN. With the FAMILY. For now she needs to stay in because her whole belly was shaven and it is cold here in winter. But in the warm weather what do we do? Do we adapt to a wolf in the house, or break her heart?

You adapt, because you have, with your care already turned her into a house wolf, and now she cannot be any other.
You are immensely lucky. She will teach you so much.

Yeah I’d say adapting is the thing. She might get lonesome and go out on her own or she just might want some loving care. Maybe she didn’t get as much when she was little and needs it now. It’ll do wonders for her. I’d sure love the experience myself.
